日本語では「リーダーフィン」と呼ばれる場合が多くありますが、正式な名称は、Leader（リーダー）Fins（フィンズ）です。ただ、日本語読みではリーダーフィンズよりリーダフィンとしたほうが呼びやすいですよね？そのため、リーダーフィンと呼ばれる方が多いのだと思います。どちらも同じフィンメーカーのことを指しているため、正式名称はどうであれ、呼びやすい方で良いかと思います。

リーダーフィンズの名前の由来は、日本語のリーダーそのものです。30年以上にわたりフィン生産を行い、様々な大会でリーダーフィンズを利用している選手たちが様々な記録を打ち立てています。「リーダー」とは、先頭にたって統率する存在です。そのリーダーであるフィンたち（fins）という意味でリーダーフィンズという名前になっています。
